1,000 KM Across Mongolia

We recently embarked on an ambitious six-day, 1,000-kilometer motorcycle expedition through Mongolia to field-test our newest adventure moto gear under real-world conditions. Guided by Nomadic Off-Road, the team featured AETHER co-founders Jonah Smith and Palmer West alongside vehicle designer Alex Earle and actors Norman Reedus, Bryan Greenberg, and Justin Chatwin. Throughout the trek, the riders faced brutal terrain—from deep sand ruts to steep, rocky mountain ledges. The elements proved just as formidable as the landscape, subjecting the crew to freezing hailstorms, mud, and a massive, apocalyptic sandstorm.

By the time the expedition concluded in Ulaanbaatar, the scuffed gear served as proof of the gear's resilience and the trip's success. Beyond testing product durability, the grueling 1,000-kilometer journey forged a tight-knit camaraderie among the group, turning unpredictable crashes and severe weather into unforgettable shared stories.
