Photo Essay: Hatcher Pass, Alaska
For our winter 2014 photo shoot, we traveled to America’s last frontier: Alaska. Here, amid the towering mountains, immense glaciers, and unending frozen expanse, one can truly experience wilderness.
One of the highlights of the trip was our visit to Hatcher Pass. From Anchorage, we headed north toward the Talkeetna Mountains and very quickly found ourselves in the middle of ski country.
Hatcher Pass is one of the few areas in the world where backcountry ski conditions can be readily accessed by road.
All around, we saw cars pulled off to the side of the road with people getting out, skinning up, and heading off into immaculate-looking conditions.
With such amazing terrain all around, we had no choice but to spend the entire day.
