Photo Essay: A Road Trip Through the Rockies
Photographer Brian Higbee makes a yearly tradition of exploring different ski resorts and backcountry locations. Last year was Alaska and Snowbird, Utah, and this year he and a few friends chose to explore Montana, Jackson Hole, WY, and Park City, UT.
Starting the trip in Montana, Higbee traveled from Livingston to Bozeman to Big Sky, where he trekked through the backcountry via snowmobile. Jackson Hole reported its snowiest February on record this year, making it the logical next stop on the trip, while Park City rounded out the powder-filled 10-day tour.
Road-tripping between states meant lots of long drives and plenty of scenic vistas along the way to stop and capture. From white-out conditions on the road to various wildlife sightings, the photo opps were virtually endless. Naturally, Higbee brought along plenty of AETHER gear to stay warm and dry in the elements.
