Event Spotlight: |Big Bear Getaway

Recently, AETHER made its first-ever foray into winter footwear with the launch of our men’s and women’s Fracap + AETHER Dolomite Boot, a snow boot handcrafted by a century-old Italian shoemaker using a mold originally created for the army. To commemorate the occasion and considering that summer never ends in Los Angeles, we decided to gather a group of interesting, creative, and nature-loving women to head to the mountains of Big Bear equipped with the women's Dolomite Boot. We teamed up with Calico Farm, The Kitchy Cabin, and Noon Lodge for a Fall weekend getaway to put our boots to the test in the mountains while showing the women how much Big Bear—located just a few hours outside of LA—has evolved as a destination thanks to an onslaught of new, rustic-cool places to stay.

The impeccably appointed Calico Farm was where we began our trip with a welcome lunch courtesy of Fig and Forage (who prepared delicious meals for us throughout the weekend). We made sure all our guests were outfitted for the weekend with a piece of AETHER outerwear, as well as an AETHER logo Beanie, camp cup, and travel Tumbler, and—of course—a pair of W Dolomite Boot in the color of their choosing. That afternoon, we took the boots out for a test-drive hike on the dusty and scenic Castle Rock Trail. We ended our day with a game night and dinner at the Kitchy Cabin with wine tasting courtesy of Winc. (Both Calico Farm and Kitchy Cabin are private properties you can rent via Airbnb.) Once dinner was over, our group headed back to Noon Lodge—a collection of cabins set on Mallard Bay—where we were all staying. Not quite ready to call it a night, we bundled up in AETHER outerwear and beanies and chatted by the outdoor firepit well into the evening while enjoying the crisp, chilly mountain air. The next day, we took a morning walk on Stanfield Marsh Boardwalk before boarding a boat for a cruise around the beautiful Big Bear Lake. An al fresco sunset dinner complete with live music at Calico Farm rounded out the perfect Fall weekend. Here, photos from our Big Bear adventure.
