Event Spotlight: LeicaxAETHER in Aspen, Colorado
We recently partnered Leica Camera, one of our favorite brands, on a collaboration that involved us bringing six photographers to Aspen, Colorado, so they could document their time in the mountains on the new Q2 camera while being decked out in AETHER gear.
While flight delays due to inclement weather threatened to ruin our trip, everyone ended up making their way to Aspen within hours of their original flight, allowing the itinerary of skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding, cross-country skiing, and general exploring to commence. The LeicaxAETHER crew included Rishad Daroowala (@rishad), Scott Rankin (@othellonine), Mathieu Bitton (@candytman), Pete Halvorsen (@petehalvorsen), Natalie Suarez (@natalieoffduty), and Dylana Suarez (@dylanasuarez), as well as AETHER cofounder Jonah Smith (@jonahssmith), and Leica Camera’s product specialist Antonio Di Benedetto (superantonio64).
The next few days saw the gathered group gear up in AETHER to take on the endless opportunities for exploring winter and the outdoors the Aspen area has to offer. Day one included skiing and snowboarding at Snowmass, followed by a sunset dog-sledding adventure at Krabloonik. The following day brought lunch at the epic Pine Creek Cookhouse, located deep in the Castle Creek Valley and only accessible by a sleigh, snowshoeing, or cross-country skis in the winter. A stop by the late Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson’s hangout, The Woody Creek Tavern, on the way back to town rounded out a great day and afternoon. Here, some behind-the-scenes images from our Aspen photography adventure. Stay tuned for many more photos from the trip.
