The beauty is in the construction of the fabric at the mill level to support the 800-fill-power grey-goose-down insulation. The baffles that contain the down are woven into the fabric itself, so there is no need for exterior stitching, keeping the surface of the fabric smooth. This process also means down feathers will not leak through needle holes in the seams, as often happens in traditional down jackets.
