City Chelsea Boot
Characterized by its minimalist silhouette and extraordinary versatility, the City Chelsea Boot is constructed from pull-up leather — a full-grain leather that’s saturated in various oils and waxes during its tanning process. On top of making for a softer, more supple feel, and better water resistance, this treatment also results in what’s called the “pull-up effect” — a phenomenon in which a lighter, underlying color is revealed when the hide is stretched or scratched. This also allows pull-up leather to develop a particularly rich and characterful patina.

Designed and manufactured utilizing a spare-no-expense approach, the City Chelsea Boot features a set of uppers cut from premium Pull-up leather sourced from Portugal. Fitted with a full Italian calfskin leather lining, the uppers are mated to a rubber outsole separated via a genuine leather midsole. Another monumental part of what makes this boot so special is the fact that it features a real leather insole board and a natural latex insole capped off with Italian calf leather — giving the City Chelsea the comfort of a sneaker while maintaining the durability and lifespan of a heritage boot.
A Modern Boot Born From Old-World Construction Techniques
Each boot is pieced together by hand using an ultra-rugged Goodyear welt construction. This multi-layer, mechanical join not only makes for an incredibly hardwearing piece of footwear, but it also allows the boot to be re-soled once worn out. In addition to practically guaranteeing a lifetime of dependable use, this tried-and-true construction technique also allows this boot to be passed down to future generations as a modern-day family heirloom. Because each boot is made by hand in small batches, AETHER is able to deliver a much higher level of craftsmanship, build quality, and overall fit and finish compared to mass-produced boots.
